Swedish Royals Visit Finland

Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel began a two-day visit to Finland on Wednesday.

Princess Victoria’s first visit was to Hanaholmen, the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre in eastern Espoo, where she was brought by a police escort on Wednesday afternoon. Hanaholmen is a cultural nexus funded by grants from Finland and Sweden, and Victoria’s visit marked the 50th anniversary of the agreement establishing the centre.

On Thursday morning, the royal couple will visit Helsinki landmark Suomenlinna at 9am. At 11am, they will head over to the Swedish-language Hanken Business School in central Helsinki.

On Thursday afternoon, the royals will head to the city of Loviisa in eastern Uusimaa. Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are scheduled to wave from the balcony of the City Hall at around 2:20pm. After their appearance, they will walk through the city’s historic old town.

The trip marks the first time Victoria has visited Finland since 2017, when she came to celebrate Finland’s centennial. Victoria has visited Finland several times throughout the years.
