Lowestoft: Denmark Road to be closed for bridge construction

A busy town centre road will be closed in association with the construction of the Gull Wing bridge.

Denmark Road will be closed on Wednesday, March 1 from 7am to facilitate construction for the new northern roundabout and approach road to the bridge.

Pelo Road and the southern end of Rotterdam road will also be affected.

A signed diversion route will be in place using Katwijk Way and sections of the A1144.

A council spokesman asked that all road users follow the official signed diversion route and refrain from cutting through to main roads using the smaller residential streets in the area.

Fencing and boarding will be extended onto Denmark Road and Pelo Way to fully enclose the worksite, while pedestrian and cyclists access will be maintained with safe crossing points in place.
